
Q. WHAT DO YOU DO?
* We provide a fun, safe and respected Dog Walking Service for Gateshead and Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. Our clients pets enjoy meeting new buddies and getting the company and exercise they need when you cant be there. Dog Walking service is available 7 days a week.
* We collect your pet.
* Our service is hourly giving plenty of walking and playtime for your dog.
* We dont use crates or cages to transport your pet, instead they are safely secured on their seat in one of our vehicles.
* We bring along 2 suitable buddies for your pet to socialise with or if your pet is having a larger group walk with two Helping Hands experienced dog walkers then they will be joined by a maximum of 5 dogs.
* We provide all the poop bags.
* We dont penalise you or make a fuss when your dog is in season...our service is about adaptability, we simply walk your dog in their own area or make a home visit.
* The dogs get to go to different and interesting locations such as Jesmond Dene playing fields, on- lead Riverside walks on the Quayside, Leazes park, Bill Quay Petting farm and Saltwell Park.
* Doggy Day Out....This is a fun day out to south shields for the dogs who use the Monday to Friday Dog Walking Service. This is a very popular trip so we are limited with spaces but every dog does get to come along at some point. The trips are always on a Friday and are in the Spring and Autumn times of the year. Your Dog is collected at 10am and returned at 3pm. We take the dogs to the beach ( dogs who dont like water are kept at a safe distance ) we also have a leisurely walk along the coastline paths and finish up at the marine park or go to Bede's world park at Jarrow. We take along plenty of snacks and water, and the dogs always love to bring a gift home for their owners to say thankyou !
* Regular Dog Walking Clients also have the exclusive use of our Home Dog Boarding Service staying with Helping Hands dog carers Donald and Susan Robinson
* When your pet is returned home from their walk we refresh their water and settle them, we can also send you a text message to let you know how your pet is.
Q. HOW MANY DAYS CAN I BOOK AND HOW MUCH DOES THIS SERVICE COST ?
* FIVE DAYS A WEEK....MONDAY TO FRIDAY... The fee is £50 per week. This highly popular service provides a reassuring daily routine of walks and attention for your dog when you are out at work every day. Your dog will to go to different and interesting locations with their regular and experienced Helping Hands dog walker. Your pet will be walked with 2 other dogs. This service qualifies your Dog to attend " Doggy Day Out ". * * Due to demand this service has limited availability therefore so that potential genuine long term clients dont miss out all new clients are requested to commit to a 6 month minimum contract.
* TWO TO FOUR DAYS A WEEK....YOU CHOOSE WHICH !... The fee is £10 per walk. This is a very popular service for clients who work part-time or mostly from home and have varied days for going into work. We do require the client to book a minimum of 2 walks a week. This service is very flexible and the client can choose each week what days they want and even book on the day for that last minute rush into work! This service is available 7 days a week and your pet will have a great time going to interesting locations and meeting new friends. * * Due to high popularity this service has limited availability therefore so that potential genuine long term clients dont miss out we are requesting that all new clients commit to a 6 month minimum contract. Clients wanting to book for occasional or short term dog walking service please read below.
* ONE DAY A DAY A WEEK & ONE OFF BOOKINGS...The fee is £15 per walk. This hourly service is for clients who only want a short term booking or have random days in the month / year when they book their dog in for the service. You choose the day that you want your dog walked and this can be booked at short notice. Your pet will go to interesting locations, have a fun time, meet new friends and Helping Hands dog walkers. This service is available 7 days a week. * please note this service is subject to availability.

* All pet service fee's are paid in advance before or on the first walk of the booking.
* A mileage fee may be added if you live in a location we dont normally pick up in.
* Dog walking times are between 10am and 3pm, we can provide early or teatime walks...just ask for availability and fee's.
* Doggy Day Out cost's £10 on top of your normal Friday daily fee.
* Saturday is charged at the rate of time and a half
* Sunday is charged at the rate of double time
* If on the day of your dogs walk the weather conditions are too severe for normal walking, your pet will be visited to be given a toilet break, then your dogs following walk will be adjusted to make up for the lost time due to weather conditions. Helping Hands prides itself for always getting to your pet, whatever the weather.
* Clients who may not need the service in long school holidays are advised to have at least 1 walk a week to keep your pet in his / her routine with Helping Hands, then your dog is less likely to be as upset or disruptive when the normal routine resumes.
* All your needs will be discussed at your consultation.
* We dont walk more that 3 dogs per walker.
* For insurance purposes all dogs are walked on their lead until bonded with their walker, only when your pet has good recall for their walker (and with the owners permission) will they be let off their lead in a safe and secure area.
* 24 hours notice is required to cancel your service or you will be charged your days fee.
* Full vaccinations are required for your dog to attend the dog walking service, proof of this will be requested at your consultation. It is the owners responsibility to give their dog the recommended boosters and flea protection for your dog to attend the dog walking service. Kennel cough vaccine is not compulsory but we do prefer your dog to have this vaccine and its annual booster. To not have these vaccines jeopardizes the service.
* Helping Hands are passionate about pets, we offer a dog walking service with good basic obedience commands, therefore dogs attending group walking have to be walkable, any aggressive or unruly dogs will be offered an individual walk as an alternative for the rate of £20 per walk.
